Rainy Friday, all is well…OM!!!

I need to meditate with the week I’ve had-ha! But we went to Children’s Hospital this morning for Lea’s EEG. Its been years since I’ve been there. The last time Lea was 1 yrs old so I had to find it. I couldn’t remember exactly where it was for the life of me. But we parked in the parking structure and was met at the entrance of the hospital with a guy who offered hand sanitizer and mask, if wanted, I forgot all about Swine Flu though I hear a few people have died in the U.S. from it now. I am so sorry for their loses. But we did the EEG. The technician was nice and we talked the whole time. After we left, we visited with my mom so she could hug Lea tightly. She is dealing with eye pain and swelling from her laser surgery yesterday as well. I got a money order and mailed it off to hold our apartment for us until we arrive in July, and then dropped Lea off at school. We later went to the dollar store for a few items and came home.

Rhubarb and Moving Talk:

We have Rhubarb I planted 2 springs ago that was already 3 yrs old growing. They are small cuttings but I have strawberries and I think I’ll make a strawberry rhubarb pie or can up the mixture for a future pie…not sure yet. But the strawberries I have aren’t mine. Mine flowered and haven’t done so since. They are outside in baskets and are nice and green but thats all. Oh well…on the other hand, my lettuces-(they’re already looking like they’re ready to be picked though they need to continue to grow), onions and tomatoes are thriving in my windows. I might keep them there until the weather stabilizes. They are doing wonderfully and I can’t wait to place them on our private patio done south when we move.

I am slowly frecycling out more items. I need to sell some things but because we are situated on a main road with a strange driveway I had to blockoff thanks to the crappy neighbors down the street-(father lost his job and recently went back to work so his focus was off me lately for once!!!)-so holding a garage sale is nearly impossible here. I have tried calling about some outdoor flea markets or outdoor garage sales. One I am too late for and the other I’ll keep calling for but if I could take our stuff to an outdoor garage sale/flea market and sell it that would be great-(we’re talking small items not furniture which I’ll sell on Craigslist). But if I can’t sell the small stuff thats okay, I’ll freecycle them and sell the big stuff, just as long as its gone by July. My appliances are already spoken for and we’re taking the washer/dryer. The whole trailer hitch thing is back on just cheaper…we’re gonna purchase a hitch off Craigslist and have my friend who has air tools like the pros and who used to work for Uhaul put it on for me for very little, so then I just have to pay for the trailer, which is no problem. So we’re still gonna load it up with the appliances, the grill, Lea’s bike, some boxes etc. and move down like that.

Crockpot Fever:

I mentioned before that I have recently started using my crockpot. I am using it more than I ever had before. I cooked a roast tonight using Campbells French Onion soup and we had red potatoes and salad for dinner. I am starting to consider it one of my most valuable appliances along with my table top grill, and my non-appliance, my Stove-Top Percolater-(LOVE IT!!!) I actually look forward to using it and seeing what else I can make in it. I’ve made everything from chicken to beef-(no fish or anything yet), to BBQ and Mexican in it. I wish I had’ve learned to use it earlier. But better late than never..

you are so busy. I am glad you are able to bless so many people with your freecycling. also I love the crock. they don’t heat up your house.

Sweethearts, exactly. I don’t need to even use the oven or stovetop. It stays cool in the house. Gotta love it.
